A Quick Peek Into Our Future

Thursday May 25, 2017 is another delightful St. Pete, Florida day, though it’s getting hotter fo sho. SUMMER IS COMING!! (yelled with a Game of Thrones enthusiasm) Yet with the breeze it’s still quite enjoyable. We gather every Thursday since 2009, to schmooze, network, mentor, listen, learn and hopefully get a bit smarter and wiser. The world is changing faster and faster, and even us cutting and bleeding edge Entrepreneurs are having an increasingly difficult time keeping up. We do what we can to keep it all together, yet according to some really, really smart, visionaries, we are likely to get passed by. And bested. By Algorithms. Biology and data are all algorithms. All programmable. But before we get too worked up, let’s grab a drink and some laughs and dig into tonight’s human to human meeting!

Clients Are People, Just Like You and I

NOVA 535 is the official headquarters of Entrepreneur Social Club (TM). However, the stunning event venue in Downtown St. Pete, Florida was hosting a fundraiser for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation on Thursday, May 18, 2017. The Queens Head (where happy hour is until 7pm!) so graciously hosted our offsite meeting. Since the founder of ESC, Michael Novilla, was delighting his guests at NOVA, this particular meeting was led by myself, Erika Cain. I am a circus artist, speaker, writer and marketer (Michael calls me the little octopus, as those are just a few of the hats I wear!). It was the first meeting I led, but with such a great group of go-getters, I wouldn’t be upset if I had to do it again! Last week, we were reminded that clients are people, just like you and I.

Another beautiful Thursday evening here in sunny Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, aka DTSP. We are gathering for our weekly networking, socializing, drinking, listening and learning; our home away from home. The Entrepreneur Social Club (TM) going strong since 2009. Last week one of our ESC members, the lovely and talented Dona Crowley, held her Luminescence Blacklight Fashion Show and Art Experience during our normal meeting time. Beautiful models painted with blacklight effective body paint, food and music and lots of fun. Well tonight, May 11, 2017, we are back to our “regular” meeting schedule, if “regular” involves fearless facials … so let’s get started!

We are gathering for our weekly networking, schmoozing, mentoring, drinking, laughing, learning, dining and so much more. Plus some Headshots Splits and maybe even an afterparty! It’s every Thursday since 2009, our group, the Entrepreneur Social Club (TM). A chance to meet and connect with fellow business owners, Entrepreneurs, and the like minded, where religion and politics are forbidden. A place to discuss and debate the best way to solve problems, to make a better business or process; not a place for bullies nor jerks. A fun place where we all walk away a bit smarter. Better humans and business people. A place we call home.

It’s another beautiful Thursday night, March 16, 2017, here in lovely downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, what we locals call DTSP. We’re gathering at our gorgeous, historic HQ, St. Pete’s 5-Star wedding and event venue NOVA 535. Where our weekly ritual has taken place since 2009, when the Entrepreneur Social Club, aka ESC, was founded. And Trademarked. So if you are considering creating a social club for Entrepreneurs, be original and find your own name. Dorks!! (Side rant.) Anywho, here we gather to laugh and cry, to share our successes and failures. Plus we enjoy some cocktails from our lovely master bartender Vanessa, and get in some good ol’ fashion networking. When the timing is just right, we enjoy some Entrepreneurial Magic.

Tonight, Thursday March 2, 2017, here in beautiful Downtown St. Pete, Florida, was an extra special night for the Entrepreneur Social Club. We were celebrating several successes, including Authors, Alleys and the HSN Drip Krown. Our authors are Daniel Nyiri, owner of 4U-Fitness (below), who along with Stephanie Wynn, are publishing their first books. Congrats! We’ll get into the alley later…. as to other success story of the night it’s from Don “Drip Krown” Kobasky. Don is our infamous high-impact oil on canvas painter turned inventor. Don had to grind it out, using his “never say never, never give up” Brooklyn, NY attitude. Tooth, nail and perseverance was required to get himself on the air at our local King Kong network HSN. Bravo to Daniel, Stephanie and Don!!

Tonight is a spectacularly gorgeous “winter” evening, another near perfect Thursday here in sunny St. Pete, Florida. I’m gearing up for our weekly Entrepreneur Social Club, HQed at my historic wedding and event venue NOVA 535, which happens to be turning 9 years old today! Happy Birthday to Team NOVA!! So much love, passion, tears, hard work, sweat and real $$ equity went into building NOVA 535 out of the ‘ashes’ of a doggie day care and out of about 80 years of bad design decisions. I purchased 535 in the fall of 2005 and we opened February 8, 2009. Wow how time flies! And how tonight we discover and enjoy Octopus Bacon and Boats you Just Cannot Flip!

Shaken and Stirred. Red or White? Domestic or Imported? Tonight, Thursday January 26, 2017, as our delightful bartender Vanessa enjoys some sin city with her friends, I add to my roles that of Bartender. Luckily, not the first or even 100th time, so we’re in good shape. Not as good when she is around (don’t leave us Vanessa!) but we’ll survive! And yes Art, you can have another Vodka and Soda, just let me put my camera down!

French Accents Hard Science and Sushi Galore!

Thursday, January 12, 2016 heralds our weekly gathering with the Entrepreneur Social Club, AKA the ESC. We have been meeting every Thursday, sans any major holidays like Thanksgiving, since January 2009. In the light of a wedding being on schedule for tonight at our DTSP headquarters, historic wedding and event venue NOVA 535, we are offsite for ESC. So we ventured to Suozou Asian Fusion Restaurant to enjoy French Accents Hard Science and Sushi Galore, at 435 5th Avenue North. Call them at 727-823-4050, they are fabulous!

Attendance sometimes dips when we are offsite, and I use the time when I’m sitting there alone waiting for our members for a moment of introspection. For instance, I think: Why are you doing this Michael? Who will show tonight? As I organize my laptop and get my Cannon 6D ready, I ponder what the ESC means to me… Why every Thursday I spend my valuable time and energy on my “charity”, a free social club focused on helping and mentoring my fellow Entrepreneurs.

So true! Tonight, January 19, 2017, was another gorgeous night here in Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. Once again at our Entrepreneur Social Club HQ, NOVA 535. Lots of newcomers, many returning champions, smiles and great energy all around. Come join us on another fun and productive night of laughs, learning, drinking, amazing food, and some truly priceless moments!
