Authors Alleys and the HSN Drip Krown

Authors Alleys and the HSN Drip Krown

Tonight, Thursday March 2, 2017, here in beautiful Downtown St. Pete, Florida, was an extra special night for the Entrepreneur Social Club. We were celebrating several successes, including Authors, Alleys and the HSN Drip Krown. Our authors are Daniel Nyiri, owner of 4U-Fitness (below), who along with Stephanie Wynn, are publishing their first books. Congrats! We’ll get into the alley later….  as to other success story of the night it’s from Don “Drip Krown” Kobasky. Don is our infamous high-impact oil on canvas painter turned inventor. Don had to grind it out, using his “never say never, never give up” Brooklyn, NY attitude. Tooth, nail and perseverance was required to get himself on the air at our local King Kong network HSN. Bravo to Daniel, Stephanie and Don!!

Novaween Social and Delicious Brick and Mortar

This week was a change of pace for Entrepreneur Social Club as we opted to focus a bit more on the “social” aspect of the night. The group met at historic downtown St. Pete (DTSP) venue Nova 535 for drinks and social hour before heading over to one of DTSP’s finest dining and wine spots, Brick & Mortar. This allowed an opportunity for each of our members to feel more relaxed and open as we got to know one another a little bit better.

Why not to ask for a discount at ESC

Why we should not discount our pricing

Tonight we are delving into “Why we should not discount our pricing when asked by a prospective client.” Aside from the fact that it’s irritating – like when you’re in Outback Steakhouse and you offer them $15 for their $23 Ribeye. Huh? My mortgage holder, tax collector and insurance men would laugh in my face if I suggested 15% off. When you agree to give a client a discount, you are undermining your business, value and reputation. You are now open to negotiating everything, including the value you place on your time and efforts. Once you know, really know your costs and value, then you set your pricing to where it needs to be at and that’s that.

2016 Sunscreen Film Festival

ESC enjoys the DTSP 2016 Sunscreen Film Festival

ESC enjoys the DTSP 2016 Sunscreen Film Festival. Tonight, Thursday April 28, 2016, was the opening night of the 11th Annual Sunscreen Film Festival, one where I and my venue NOVA 535 have sponsored since the beginning. So tonight as my fellow Entrepreneurs gathered here at NOVA, for our weekly meeting, I informed them we were going on a field trip. Just around the corner to the Palladium, to enjoy the red carpet and the opening night Film, “Spare Parts“. The carpet was electric, the film charming and delightful. Spare Parts is what all film makers try to accomplish – a film (and story) with heart! We cared about the characters and their struggles. We laughed and cried. We cringed and cheered. What a wonderful film to have shared with my fellow Entrepreneurs – a film about Mexican and Mexican American kids, who were “troubled” each in their own way, that found a bond of friendship and mutual respect via a underwater robotics challenge. Spare parts was based on a true story, and that story and film are certainly worth your time – enjoy it and, you’re welcome!

Dining in Downtown St Pete DTSP with the Entrepreneur Social Club

Our 2015 Favorite Restaurants in Downtown St. Pete for Dinner After the ESC

After our weekly Entrepreneur, Social Club meeting ends, we head further into downtown St. Petersburg to one of our favorite, delicious restaurants, where we eat, drink (more!) and continue to be merry! The ESC is a purely social club infused with strong, real-world business wisdom, mentoring, networking and problem-solving. And all of that work’s up our appetites, so I’ll get right down to the sharing of our 2015 Favorite Downtown St. Pete Restaurants for Dinner after the ESC. They are in alphabetical order for ease and fairness, I’ll note the ones that are member-owned and / or exceptionally great! Keep in mind that we only go to restaurants with adult beverages, though some here only serve beer and wine. Also, a key factor is lighting, ambiance and being able to sit 12-20+ of us all together. No sitting apart, this is a group event, the Entrepreneur Social Club. And yes, it’s ok to buy me, Michael S. Novilla, the founder, dinner. =D
