Happy EntrepreNEWerial New Year

Happy EntrepreNEWerial New Year from the Entrepreneur Social Club! We’ve Entrepreneurs, Business Owners, Dreamers, Start-Ups and Positive Folks gathered here at historic DTSP venue NOVA 535, on a beautiful Thursday January 4, 2018. For our weekly evening of networking, schmoozing, business development, mentoring, laughter, business card reviewinf and so much more! It’s typically the highlight of the week for many of us, for the camaraderie, the imparted wisdom, the hugs, smiles and laughter; plus if you hang around long enough, you may be an #afterparty #falloutvictum. More, or not, about that later…

Welcome back and congrats to Jamie Doerschuck, founder of  The-DoerCo.com, who recently graduated university! Jamie is razor smart and super duper motivated! If you’re looking for some intelligent, spunky marketing / copywriting (and more!) assistance, book Jamie now before the secret is out! Below is newcomer trio Angie Kincaid, Operations Manager ImperioUSA.com, with Debbie Baptiste, the more organized half of Octavius Cummings’ organization. Octavius is a graphic designer, photographer, videographer, shiny ball (haha!) who needs help with time management. Typical Entrepreneur. Hard working, talented and easily distracted. Good at anything he puts his time and energy into. Group to Octavius = focus on what you do best first, what pays best. We suggest the KPI book, again. In fact Daniel Priestley (the rock-star author), where are my royalties?? Become a Key Person of Influence. KPI. Focus on what you do the best and delegate the rest.

Below wearing the yellow jacket, is Harvard journalist on call Keith Long. I’ve hired Keith to edit my first book The NOVA Way, being published in 2018! Next is CPA Dan Novello, and the founder of the ESC Michael Scott Novilla (that’s me!) Jeff Sassano Insight Consulting Group. Newcomer Doug Kliewer wodul.com from Michigan, met Jeff Sassano – Jeff is a networking master! Doug’s company is in Grand Rapids, where my father attended Ferris State pharmacy school. Wodul is a disruptive SEO company; we all know that SEO is constantly changing. Google web crawlers want to find a clear, compelling, optimized site and content… and Doug’s Wodul want to to be the Netflix / Airbnb / UBER of the SEO biz.  Wow, no small goals here! John Pereira asks what is your edge? How can my tiny real estate site compete vs. Coldwell Banker, for example?  After discussing this a bit, we get back here to Paul Constantino, wearing black and white stripes.  Paul is a project manager and has returned for more ESC gold!

Above is Manny Herrera, Fred Astaire Studio franchise owner, who took our advice and got himself a fantastic (and memorable) URL with DanceStPete.com. He’s seated next to Mr. Networking himself, Jeff Sassano! Jeff wins the award for most new people brought into ESC, thanks Jeff!! Below pictured with me is the smart, lovely, firely and talented Ann Coffman, both an attorney and MBA, plus a fantastic photographer!

What’s the Next Big Thing(s)?

AR Augmented Reality and VR Virtual Reality, which are completely immersive.

Google is using linking metadata from the audio inside of video data in youtube videos. Copyrighted music gets audio watermarked so youtube audio crawlers look for matching royalty. Make sure your vids have royalty free music.

Cryptocurrency using blockchain is increasingly being used to purchase real estate.

Definition of Blockchain, SOURCE: Wikipedia

A blockchain,[1][2][3] originally block chain,[4][5] is a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography.[1][6] Each block typically contains a hash pointer as a link to a previous block,[6] a timestamp and transaction data.[7] By design, blockchains are inherently resistant to modification of the data. The Harvard Business Review describes it as “an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way.”[8] For use as a distributed ledger, a blockchain is typically managed by a peer-to-peer network collectively adhering to a protocol for validating new blocks. Once recorded, the data in any given block cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks, which requires collusion of the network majority.

Cryptocurrency is currently very volatile, due to market speculation and many other factors. Lots of $$ to be made AND lost.
